What's your favorite restaurant?
My personal salad bar, of course! When possible, rabbits like to eat local and organic. Greens from my salad bar are always fresh, tasty, and nutritious--and you can't beat the convenient location!
Edited 6:10 pm, 10/3/06: With the blessing of my friend Lauri I hereby bestow on my own salad bar the Bunny Lounge's second-ever Rabbit of Approval. Meep!
My friend Little Miao asks me: Do you get salad snacks whenever you want, and do your peeps trim the grass for you or let you munch on it directly from the pots?
No, Little Miao, I don't get salads whenever I want. So I guess this means it's not really a 24 hour salad bar. My peeps love me, but they don't think a lot of greens are good for my tummy. Every day or so they harvest a few greens and fix me a small salad for dinner and that's all. The tender greens sure taste good sprinkled on my hay.
Still, I enjoy being a trickster bun, so every now and then I like to take matters into my own paws. It's not hard for a clever rabbit to sneak onto the deck when a careless peep leaves the door open.
Um, I hope they have more of that grass seed in back.
The satisfaction of a job well done.
My new friend Diane wonders whether I get enough to eat. Gentle reader, I am a bunny. To this question I can have only one answer: a resounding no!
Witness the hay below: tasty organic mixed grasses specially grown for rabbits by the nice folks at Oxford Meadows in Canada. Yes, I had my peeps import it just for me. I love the stuff! But several months ago my stash ran out. When my peeps told me Oxford Meadows had gone out of business, I thumped and cried until they gave me a few fruit treats. This calmed me down a little.
Right now I'm nibbling my way through some locally grown hay, but it's not my favorite. So I told my peeps to order hay online from BunnyBale next. BunnyBale sent me a free sample flake last week and I liked it very much. Things are looking up!
I also had my peeps start another 24 hour salad bar for me after we moved to our new place. It's grown in nicely now so I can have a bit of yummy fresh organic grass, bunny sprouts, basil, and cilantro every day. That's our bulol on the right, sitting guard over my salad bar.
